Supporting Maine's Veterans When They Need It Most

This Veterans Day, and every day, we salute our veterans of Maine. RALI Maine partners with many veterans organizations to help increase awareness of substance use disorders among veteran communities and connect them with resources.

Did you know that veterans are at higher risk of opioid addiction because they are more likely to experience an injury during their service? One in 15 struggles with a substance use disorder, which represents approximately 1.5 million veterans across the country.

This Tuesday, November 12, we hope you'll join us for a community conversation on the issue. "Pathways to Recovery: Resources for Maine's Veterans and their Families" will be hosted by Cumberland County District Attorney Jonathan Sahrbeck. The event is also made possible by RALI Maine partners including Easterseals Maine, Kennebunk Police Department, MaineWorks and NAMI Maine.

We also thank our national partners -- Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans Health Council and Veterans Against Drugs -- who provide needed support for veterans every day.
